The 6 Best Oscar Moments

Well, the Oscars happened.  Finally.  As is the case in any award show, there were some great moments.  Here are our favorites:

6.)  Hugh Jackman's Bizarre But Fun Opening Number

This guy plays Wolverine.  And he sings and dances.  HOW'S THAT FOR RANGE?

5.)  Will Smith Says "Boom Goes The Dynamite"

After messing up a line, Will Smith quickly says "Boom goes the dynamite."  Why is this a best moment?  We're not really sure, it was just silly and was perfectly "Will Smith" with it's "no cursing" and "Perfect for the kids" characteristics.

4.)  Ryan Seacrest's Awkward Slumdog Millionaire Interview

To be fair, Ryan Seacrest probably didn't know the kid couldn't speak English, but it's really funny the way the kid actually says IN ENGLISH "My name is...."  You would think he knew more phrases.  Guess not!

3.)  Ben Stiller Rips On Joaquin Phoenix

Is Joaquin Phoenix's (Phoenices?) recent "look" real?  Or is it all a ruse for some sort of bizarre self-indulgent means?  Either way, Ben Stiller made fun of him perfectly at the Oscars last night by spoofing Joaquin's awkward apperance on Letterman.  If Joaquin was watching, he was probably either mad or indifferent.

2.)  The Greatest Oscar Speech Of All Time

Short, simple, weird, and Mr. Roboto.  Who could ask for more?

1.)  Heath Ledger Wins Oscar

If you saw The Dark Knight, and you did, you're well aware that Heath Ledger's Joker was amazing in its dark and evil portrayal which is a far cry from the Kevin Michael Richardson and Jack Nicholson versions which, while evil, still had a comical and somewhat campy element to them.  The Joker's terrifying appeal was only magnified when Heath Ledger died last year as a result of overdosing on sleeping pills.  It was sad to see his family accept the Oscar on his behalf, but he clearly deserved to win.
