Ann Coulter's Worst Moments

Our dislike of Bill O'Reilly provided some good feedback from like-minded readers, so we thought we'd do the same with another person who really pushes our buttons: Ann Coulter.  It really doesn't have anything to do with her views, (she is rabidly conservative) you're allowed to think what you want, but it does have to do with her childish use of words intended to insult the people she hates.  She's like the kid from grammar school who knew all the swear words first and intimidated everyone by using them all the time.  Coulter constantly proves to us that there is a definite distinction between being educated and being intelligent.  While she's obviously not a stupid person, her methods of getting attention are really getting old.  Let us say that we agree she is certainly entitled to her beliefs and can use the aforementioned words as often as she wants, but should understand the consequences of doing so.  It's always hilarious to us when we see her on TV acting completely shocked when people find her words so offensive.

Ann Coulter Is THE Authority On The Vietnam War

After making some disparaging comments about Canada, Coulter was on CBC news, talking about how angry it makes her that Canada refused to support the U.S. in the Iraq War while they felt the need to send troops to Vietnam.  Unfortunately for Ann, Canada did not send troops to Vietnam, although many Canadians who lived in the U.S. did fight.

Imagine how pissed they'd be if she'd made fun of hockey, too.

Women Vote Stupidly

According to Coulter, women, specifically single women, are to "blame" for electing Democrats as President.  In her column, she said "If we take away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat President.  It's sort of a pipe dream, a personal fantasy of mine."  It's tough to say how honest she was being about this statement.  Does she honestly wish we could get rid of women's right to vote?  Probably.  This is another example of things Ann Coulter says that would be hilarious if she were a comedian, and not an influential American political commentator.

"Godless Liberals"

The way her arm is resting on the word "Godless" sort of makes it seem like she's implying something about herself.

In Coulter's book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," she makes sure to "insult" liberals by calling them "Godless," among other things.  It's sort of funny, actually.  Her purpose in this regard is to embarass anyone who considers themselves a follower of the liberal ideology.  Here's why it's not as big an insult as she thinks it is:

Thomas Jefferson Is Ridiculously Smart

It was Thomas Jefferson (affectionately referred to as "TJ" henceforth) who coined the phrase in his famous letter to the Danbury Baptists who expressed concern that there were no laws constructed to protect their religion nor did any laws establish a national religion.  Jefferson replied that he understood their concern but the Constitution allows for the practice of any religion, but does not require anyone to join a religious sect "thus building a wall of separation between Church and State."  Ok, so political genius Thomas Jefferson said that Church and State should be separated?  And our country was founded on this belief system?  That would then mean that calling liberals "Godless" would be the same as calling liberals "People who want to govern the United States the way it was intended to be governed by the people who, you know, founded the place."

Middle School Style Insults

John Edwards Is A "Faggot?"

At a Conservative Reporters dinner Coulter said; "Apparently you have to go to rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I'm kind of at an impasse, can't talk about Edwards."  Really?  She wanted to call him a "faggot?"  If she doesn't like him, that's completely fine.  But when a for some reason respected pundit like Coulter uses middle school slang, shouldn't people say "Hey, that's the way a crazy person talks, should we really listen to her anymore?"  Instead, republicans applaud her "courageous, uninhibited style."  Coulter issued an apology akin to her style, saying it would be an insult to homosexuals to suggest John Edwards was one of them.

Possibly equally offensive is that her delivery isn't even that good.  She's totally forcing all of her punchlines.

9/11 Widows Are "Harpies?"

You know how certain things destroy without heed?  Things like fire and disease have no discretion, and attack anything that gets too close.  Such is Ann Coulter.  After 9/11, many people were angry.  The most deserving of that anger were the families of people killed in the attack.  A group of women who became known as "The Jersey Girls" for their outspoken disdain and desire for the truth after their husbands were killed in the World Trade Center.  Ann Coulter noticed that they were speaking out against the Bush administration, and decided to viciously attack them.  She's quoted in her book as saying "These self-obsessed women seem genuinely unaware that 9-11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them.  I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."  Now that's some harsh discourse.  The point she eventually makes is that Democrats are using victims of 9-11 to further their cause, that the women are using their husbands death to for gains financially and in notoriety, and that the tactic is sleazy because no one has the courage to respond to the women.  She forgets to note that President Bush used plenty of 9-11 images (standing on World Trade Center rubble wearing a firefighter's hat, etc), essentially using that same tragedy to further his own political campaign.  After making her point, she makes sure to take shots at their morality, stating they should appear in Playboy before their fame runs out.

Check out Keith Olbermann's piece on her her lack of a soul:

You can always count on Keith.

Muslims Are "Ragheads?"

Americans were furious after 9-11, not least of which was Ann Coulter. She made sure her commentary that followed was full of racist rhetoric, referring to those of Middle Eastern descent as "rag-heads" "jihad monkeys" and "tent merchants."  Why muck up your justified anger at terrorism by stereotyping an entire race with slang terms?

Jews Need To Be "Perfected?"

"The Big Idea" host Donny Deutsch set himself up for this one.  He asked Ann Coulter what her dream America would look like.  Not surprisingly, she didn't say anything ridiculous.  Oh wait, she said plenty of ridiculous things.  Namely the worst was when she claimed that Jews are "imperfect" and Christians are basically a perfect version of the Jew.  Deutsch was pretty upset by Coulter's words, and Coulter was visibly uncomfortable, perhaps understanding that she had made a claim she wasn't able to defend with her trademark steadfast beliefs.  Her idea of Jews needing perfection sort of remind us of another anti-Semite from Germany.  What was his name again?

You can take what you want from this article, we just thought we should stockpile some of her most special moments.  We're almost certain we could do a full-length special next year with all new ones.
