Soldiers are portrayed as heroic and courageous, unless they're soldiers from the other team, then they're portrayed as sadistic, blood-thirsty killers. Snipers are generally portrayed as quirky, their skill makes them sort of sexy and dangerous. They always make for a bad ass character. There should be a sniper in every movie.
11.) Savior

Guy (Quaid) doesn't give a shit anymore, so he becomes a mercenary, and guess what? People die.
10.) Shooter
It's pretty sweet watching a guy take out moving targets like that. Also cool is the employ of "ghillie" suits, the suits that make you look like a grass monster. Ignore the dumb dialogue and the "We don't need to extract them" attitude and it's a cool sniper scene.
9.) Jarhead

Although they aren't given permission to fire on the enemy, Peter Saarsgaard has a mental breakdown and begs to shoot the target, claiming "No one will know the difference" since an airstrike will destroy them anyway. It's cool to see how badly they want to kill.
8.) 28 Weeks Later
Probably every person's dream is to snipe zombies. Why wouldn't it be? These fellows get to live that dream, shooting both the infected and non-infected people alike.
7.) Enemy At The Gates
We're talking about the unbelievable shot taken at the 3:00 mark of the video, when the two snipers are jumping the gap. It's pretty awesome.
6.) The Professional
Yes, this is not a confirmed kill. But it's still fucking gutsy to take a shot at a politician (in this case an obvious allusion to Bill Clinton), because it would no doubt result in life in prison. And it's a solid shot too. So for that, we give it credit.
5.) Full Metal Jacket
Watching this lady take down that American squad was grim, but it showcases some sniper talent for sure. By simply injuring the soldiers, she was able to draw more soldiers out.
4.) Lethal Weapon

Martin Riggs is pretty much insane, making him the perfect candidate to wipe out the Shadow Company operatives in the desert with his PSG-1 sniper rifle.
3.) Black Hawk Down
This scene is super bad-ass because it actually happened. Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart were two Delta Force snipers who requested to be inserted in hostile territory in order to protect the Black Hawk crew and were killed. They received the Medal of Honor.
2.) Enemy At The Gates:
Holy shit, this dude took down five soldiers like it was nothing. That's Vassily Zeytzev for ya.
1.) Saving Private Ryan
This shot is insane. And before you whine about how Mythbusters disproved it, remember that it's still awesome, and also an homage to a legendary shot taken by sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam, which is documented with photographic evidence.
