The McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is an American classic, just like the McDonald’s Hamburger, why then can’t we find any Shamrock Shakes anywhere? I know many of you are thinking, “What is a Shamrock Shake?”. It is a minty vanilla milk shake wonder that used to be sold in McDonald’s all across our country to commemorate St. Patricks Day. It is a your normal vanilla milkshake, dyed green, with a hint of mint flavor. Sounds great doesn’t it? I know, I wish I could have one too.
Check out this classic St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shake Commerical:
As history says it, Uncle O’Grimacy has not come to visit Grimace in a long time, (since the late 1990’s) and that is why we have not seen the Shamrock Shake. Grimace is the McDonald’s character that used to steal milkshakes; his Uncle O’Grimacy would come to visit one time a year during the month of March. During this visit he would bring the refreshingly delicious Shamrock Shake.
To our disappointment the Shamrock Shake, Uncle O’Grimacy and that little glimmer of joy that came every St. Patrick’s Day are now gone. Except in Ireland where they get there yearly dose of goodness. It’s an outrage for those of us who remember it, but truly sad for those who have never gotten to taste it. Various websites have popped up protesting, and in honor of St. Patty’s Day we’re providing you with a few links for recipes, search sites (for those of you who are still searching) and protest sites.
We must let McDonald’s know “We want our Shamrock Shake back!”
