Fun Drinking Games- Quarters

We at CampusSqueeze are dedicated to making your college experience the best it could be. For this reason, we’ve made alcohol appreciate month, paying homage to everything that is great about college drinking. Now we have a series, every Friday we’ll give you a fun drinking game to play with your friends. This week we’ve got Quarters, it’s pretty simple and lots of fun. Really how could you go wrong when shots are involved, even if you don’t figure out how to play the game, you can surely get drunk and that’s always fun!

The Basics

Quarters is a game in which a person (the Shooter) tries to bounce a quarter of the table (or quarter board) into a shot/drinking glass without a second bounce.

You will need, a table (preferably wooden), shot glasses/regular drinking glass, and a quarter. Oh and of course some drinks!

How to Play

  1. Set yourselves up on a round table or use your board to set up a circle.
  2. Set up 2 shot glasses across from one another in the center.
  3. The first person takes a shot at bouncing the quarter into the glass. If they get it in, they elect someone to drink. If they don’t pass it onto the next person in a clockwise pattern.
  4. If the person makes 3 in a row, they get to make a rule. (ex: no one can say “drink”) Any person who breaks the rule must drink.

Helpful Hints

  1. If you’re a beginner set yourself at a comfortable distance and try to gauge how hard or soft you should throw the coin. It’s a lot easier to figure out if you do it from the same distance numerous times.
  2. If someone hits the rim of glass, anyone can challenge that persons next bounce. If the person makes it in, anyone who challenged must drink. If you miss, you must drink for each challenge received.

Clearly the kids in the video are pros.. but you get the idea.. bounce the quarter and drink up!

So there you have it, Quarters is simple all you really need is a shot glass, a table and a coin. On a college budget that’s great! For more help check out these sites.
