Kevin Ferguson aka Kimbo Slice is a former pornography company body-guard turned mixed martial art sensation. Kevin or as he is better known Kimbo Slice, is a Miami- native has become an internet sensation through his crazy filmed underground fights, in which he usually pummels his opponents.

 

Kimbo Slice started out as a street fighter in Miami, trained by former MMA fighter Bas Rutten. After just few taped fights Slice had created a name for himself, in 2003 he faced Sean Gannon, although Gannon defeated Kimbo Slice the fight gained him recognition, which would soon turn into an MMA career. Kimbo slice made his debut on the sanctioned fighting seen in 2007 in a fight against Ray Mercer who he defeated in just 1:12. His next main event fight against Bo Cantrelll proved to be another short lived fight, Kimbo Slice defeated this opponent in just 19 seconds.

 

Finally, after some time waiting, Kimbo Slice faced his most desired opponent “Tank” Abbot. Kimbo had announced at his first fight that he wanted to face Abbot but it turned up to be a wash at the time. Kimbo beat “Tank” b KO 43 seconds into the fight. On May 31, 2008 Kimbo will be fighting James Thompson in a highly anticipated ‘main event’ fight on CBS’s Saturday Night Fights.

Kimbo Slice has truly made a name for himself and his next fight is a definitely highly anticipated.
