The Super Bowl is one of America's most important social events. Watched by millions for both our collective love of football and advertising, the Super Bowl is definitely the most discussed event at the watercooler for days and weeks after its conclusion. Here are our favorite moments from last night's intense game.
7.) The Intensity
More often than not, the Super Bowl is a blowout. But XLIII was a surprisingly entertaining game. After the Steelers took a 20-7 lead in the first half, most people predicted that this year would be another addition to the "It was over at half-time" category. Luckily for us, the Cardinals stepped it up and eventually marched down the field to lead 23-20. The Steelers were forced to put together a miraculous 4th quarter drive that culminated in Santonio Holmes' incredible game-winning touchdown catch, eventually winning 27-23. It was a very exciting game, nearly as exciting as watching the Giants spoil the Patriots perfect season last year.
6.) This CareerBuilder.com Commercial
At first, this trippy commercial was confusing, but once you caught on, it was a hilarious look at how terrible jobs can be. Plus, it's just fun to watch someone punch a talking koala in the face.
5.) The Way Larry Fitzgerald Played
That guys hands are amazing. Most receivers would catch that pass with their body, but his vacuum hands suck that ball in like it was a gently tossed nerf ball.
Look at him use HIS OWN FACE as a football catching tool. Amazing.
4.) Macgruber (Pepsuber) Makes Hilarious Appearance
If you're an avid Saturday Night Live fan, you should be familiar with Macgruber, the hilarious Macgyver spin-off who gets exploded in every episode. Not only is the commercial hilarious, but having real-life Macgyver make a guest appearance pushes it to legendary status.
3.) The Longest Play In Super Bowl History
An amazing catch on the goal line and great blocking leads James Harrison to a 100-yard touchdown interception that gave the Steelers a 20-7 lead in the closing seconds of the first half. Unbelievable.
2.) Santonio Holmes' Game Winning Catch
Catching a football isn't the easiest thing a person can do. But when it's the biggest football game of your entire life, there's three players standing near you attempting to prevent you from catching it, you have to dive AND keep your feet in bounds AFTER catching a hard-thrown ball, well, that's serious athleticism.
1.) Bruce Springsteen T-Bags America
Even if you're a Steelers fan, watching the Boss take a camera lens in the nuts is the best thing that happened during the Super Bowl. The look on his face after it is the best.
