It is not very often that we here in the States pay musical homage to Holland, but taking into consideration the man recreated and molded his own unique blend of trance and set it forth with infectious delivery, put on your wooden shoes.
Tiesto once sold out a show to 25,000 guests, 2 nights in a row. He played the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Sarah Mclachlan practically got into bed with him. He is the first trance DJ to ever be broadcast on Daytime North American Radio. But we are not talking stats here, you can look him up on Wikipedia for that. We are talking trance in a way that had never, until Tiesto, christened our ears and melted our skin. This special euphoric blending of electronic mechanics and vocals is smoother and more subtle than fresh cream and blended flawlessly, as if every note was destined for greatness and longevity.
So back to giving out awards – Tiesto was voted Best DJ in the World by DJ Magazine for 3 consecutive years! His airy and dream-like melodies are offset by and amped up energy perfect for grooving to. A good time and place to slip some Tiesto in? Because he has a more elegant sound than a few other Greats we have covered, it may be a better approach to hold an ethnic dinner gathering – say cheap and easy Minute Made rice, black beans, side of sweet potatoes, butter and brown sugar with a glass of Leelanau Cellars Autumn Harvest for $5? - and allow Tiesto some breathing room in the background. He won’t be under appreciated, he’ll be the guest that sets the mood.
