Vitamin Water for Cheapskates

By now, most of us know of the craze that’s hit the nation of these new flavored drinks that promise to do a multitude of things-make you focus, boost your power, give you more energy, etc. Glacéau’s Vitamin Water has become wildly popular and endorsed by celebrities and sports figures everywhere- but it isn’t cheap. Now you- yes you, who’s sitting there reading this article thinking about all the flavors of vitamin water you’d just love to have right now- can make your own for much less. You may not see much return at first, considering you’ll be spending about $60 up front, but eventually, you’ll notice a difference. Not spending a dollar to a dollar fifty every time you want to quench your thirst can be quite riveting. Plus you’ll be helping the environment by not disposing of so many plastic bottles. We’re assuming you’ll use a refillable one.

So how exactly are you going to make Vitamin Water? Well, with a little help from Jonathan Kauffman at the Seattle Weekly, we’ll show you how. Most of the items in these recipes can be purchased at a health food store or a vitamin supply store. And these have no flavoring as of yet; you can fix this by adding fruit juice instead of crystalline fructose, or adding a little packet of Kool-Aid to the finished product. Voila! Now you have Vitamin Water!

Suggestion: Poke a pin-sized hole into C capsules and squeeze gently to remove vitamins.
