What was this guy doing?  It just seems like one of those moments in the Naked Gun movies, when OJ Simpson (pre-murders) tries to pick something up, then bumps his head, and trips on Lego's, and puts his face through a TV, and falls out a window...you know, that whole thing.  This is like that on a much smaller scale, is what we're trying to say.
