Australian bred Wolfmother hasn’t yet released a second album, but
we believe that is because everyone is still coming down from the first
one. The album was chalk full of heavy metal meets 1970’s melodic rock
with a twist of accent to smooth the seams.
What sets this band apart from the rest of the so-called rockers, is
their ability to balance vintage with trendy, They capably and
consistently create music latent with power chords and crisp vocals.
There is a daydream of spacey keyboards in the background to level the
playing field and make the music entirely tangible. The boys don’t want
to ruin the world, they just want to make some noise in it.
These boys are not only making noise, but they’re making waves as
well – with more than their Australian bush hair. Although they look
like they should be on the pages of an Urban outfitters catalog instead
of sweating up on a grunge stage it is apparent that they have a
special breed of creativity that has stretched its arm from the U.K. to
the U.S. They have contributed to X-Box games, the Grammy’s, Jackass
movies and Led Zeppelin’s induction into the Hall of Fame. their
explosive rhythms have caught on with a good majority of the population
and for good reason; they are the epitome of party music and a good
time. Plug them in and you want to dance, want to romp and you
definitely will want to play some air guitar.
